Aksef(cefuroxime) belongs to 2nd generation cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of peptodoglycan in bacteria cell wall. Peptidoglycan is essential component of the bacterial cell wall that gives structural durability. Due interfering with peptidoglycane production, Aksef makes bacteria cell unstable resulting in lysis.
Aksef is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is effective against aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including those that produce beta-lactamase.
Aksef is indicated to treat infectious disease caused by susceptible to cefuroxime microorganisms:
ENT infections(sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, pharyngitis)
Respiratory tract infections(chronic bronchitis, bacterial pneumonia, lung abscess)
Infections of the urinary tract(acute and chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis)
