Composition:
Dihydrogenocitrate Butamirate 40 mg, Guaiphenesine 1 g, Ethanol 95% 3 g, Fluid Extract of Sweet-Wood 30 mg, Alpinarum flower flavor 20 mg, Distilled Water 0,07 ml, Polysorbate 80 10 mg, Propilenglicol ad 10 ml.
Pharmacological properties:
Butamirate has moderate and anti inflammatory anti tussive, expectorant, bronholitic properties. Antitussive effect is explained through the sensitive lung receptors’ anesthesiating. Guaiphenesine is an expectorant with active tension properties; reduces saliva’s adhesiveness, and reduces viscosity. The flux of the bronchial secretion stimulates cilia activity and facilitates expectoration. The cougha becomes more productive and less frequent. The active principles of the sweet wood (Liquiritia) have expectorant effects. Generally, the drug inhibits the cough, especially hyperreactive, whooping and unproductive one; it manifests secretomotion and mucocinetic properties which facilitates expectoration. Stoptusina doesn’t inhibit the respiratory center.
Prescribed for:
Bronchitis, pharyngitis, viral and catarrhal infections of the respiratory ways, pneumonia, silicosis, pre- and postsurgery period for cough inhibition.
Contraindications:
Myasthenia gravis (relative contraindication).
Dosing: Orally, after meal. Without chewing, washing down with a liquid (water, tea, juice etc.), the dose depends on weight of a body: children with a weight under 50 kg - 0.5 tablets 4 times per day, 50-70 kg - 1 tablet 3 times per day, 70-90 kg - 1.5 tablets 3 times per day,weight under 90 kg - 1.5 tablets 4 times per day.
Interval between reception — 4–6 ?.
Overdosage:
Cases of overdosage haven’t been reported.
Side effects:
in the recommended doses are not foreseen. Butamirate can provoke exanthems, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness.
